Library After Dark Returns to Beechworth Library!

Library After Dark is open exclusively to 12-18 year-olds, where Beechworth Library will open its doors one evening a week just for teens. This program runs during the colder months, offering a fantastic space for young people to stay warm, unwind, study, and connect with friends.

Whether you’re looking to catch up on homework, dive into a good book, or simply hang out, we’ve got you covered. You can choose to: 

• Study: Utilise the quiet spaces and resources of the library to get your schoolwork done
• Hang out: Relax and socialise in a safe, welcoming environment
• Play board games: Challenge your friends to a game or discover a new favourite
• Explore the Digital Library: Access a vast collection of e-books, audiobooks, and more
• Browse the book collection: Find your next great read among our extensive selection
• Use public computers and wi-fi: Take advantage of our computer stations and free Wi-Fi for research, homework, or leisure activities

And, of course, what’s an evening without food? We have delicious options to keep you fueled throughout the evening. 

This program is supervised by library staff to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. Young people are supervised whilst inside the library, but are not required to stay for the full session, as per our usual library hours. Once young people have left the library, council staff cannot offer any supervision. No forms are required to attend, but young people will be given the opportunity to share an emergency contact with us should they choose.
