Sealed Pavement Rehabilitation - Up River Road

Each year, we undertake a number of sealed road maintenance and improvement programs

Burke Museum Roof Repairs

We're replacing part of the historic Burke Museum roof and installing new box gutters to better protect the building and valuable collection from water ingress.

Gravel resheeting program 2025/26

Around 30 kilometres of gravel roads across the Shire will be resheeted in 2025/26.

Mcfeeters Road Bridge Renewal

We're replacing an old load limited vehicle bridge over Spring Creek on Mcfeeters Road, Beechworth, with a new structure to meet current standards and design loads.

Annual Sealed Road Resurfacing Program 2025/26

Each year, we reseal a portion of our urban and rural sealed roads.

Sealed Pavement Major Patching program 2025/26

Our Major Patching program is developed annually to repair small-medium localised pavement failures across our sealed road network.

Barnawartha Primary School pedestrian safety improvements

We've received a grant through the 2024 TAC Local Government Grant program to support pedestrian safety improvement works outside the Barnawartha Primary School.

Beechworth Town Hall Restoration

We've received a $400,000 grant through the Australian Heritage Grants program to support restoration works on the Beechworth Town Hall.

We're upgrading the pavilion at Barkly Park in Rutherglen to deliver modern, inclusive facilities that better support women and girls' participation in sport. Funded by the Victorian Government ($1M) and Council ($400K), the project will refurbish and extend the existing change rooms.

Tiny Towns Projects

In 2024, we successfully secured funding through Regional Development Victoria’s Tiny Towns Fund for three projects within Indigo Shire - the Wahgunyah Railway Reserve Playground Extension, Allans Flat Waterhole enhancements and the Tangambalanga Active Park shelter.
