Tiny Art Show 2025 – Portraits of Indigo
The Tiny Art Show has returned to Indigo Shire Libraries for another year of creativity and celebration. This beloved community program invites artists of all ages and abilities to express themselves on a miniature canvas, and 2025 has been our biggest year yet.
A community-wide canvas
This year's theme, Portraits of Indigo, invited participants to capture the essence of our shire through portraits of our people, pets, and places. The response has been overwhelming, with just over 300 tiny artworks now gracing the walls of our four library branches across the shire.
From detailed pencil sketches to bold acrylic paintings, from first-time creators to seasoned artists, the diversity of mediums and styles reflects the rich creative spirit of our community. Beloved family dogs feature alongside sweeping landscapes, neighbourhood friends appear next to historic buildings, and quiet corners of our towns are celebrated in paint and pastel.

Visit the exhibition
The Tiny Art Show 2025 is on display at all Indigo Shire library branches from now until 1 November. We invite you to visit your local library, take time to appreciate these miniature masterpieces, and see your community through the eyes of your neighbours.
Celebrating together
The exhibitions officially opened with special events at Beechworth and Yackandandah libraries on Wednesday 15 October, bringing together artists, families, and art enthusiasts to celebrate this year's creations. The warm, supportive atmosphere at these openings perfectly captured what makes the Tiny Art Show so special – it's not just about the art, but about the connections we make and the stories we share.
More than just art
The Tiny Art Show exemplifies what grassroots community programs can achieve. By providing free materials, welcoming all skill levels, and creating an inclusive, non-competitive environment, the program breaks down barriers to creative participation. It's intergenerational, embracing all abilities, and demonstrates the remarkable power of art to support community cohesion.
Each tiny canvas tells a story – not just of the subject depicted, but of the person who created it, the time they took to participate, and their connection to this place we call home. Together, these 300 pieces create a collective portrait of Indigo that is far greater than the sum of its parts.

To all the artists who picked up a tiny canvas this year – thank you. Your creativity enriches our community and reminds us of the talent, heart, and connection that makes Indigo special.
This exhibition will be open until Saturday 1 November. Visit our Library branches and opening hours to find your nearest location.
