Storytime Sessions

Librarian reading a story to a group of children.

Join us for Storytime and help your child discover the joy of reading while building essential language, literacy, and social skills.

These interactive 30-minute sessions, which run during the school term only, feature a delightful mix of stories, songs, rhymes, music, movement, and simple craft activities. Designed especially for young children, Storytime supports learning through play — the way children naturally explore and understand their world.

Storytime is one of the most enriching early learning experiences a child can have, as it encourages language development, cognitive growth, creativity, and social-emotional connections in a fun and welcoming environment.

We also offer Rhyme Time sessions at selected branches. Rhyme Time is a series of 30-minute sessions for babies aged 0–18 months and their parents or carers. Each session blends rhymes, movement, music, and singing to support early literacy and language development. Rhyme Time is a gentle, engaging introduction to the joy of rhythm and language, while offering a special opportunity to connect and share time together in a welcoming library environment.

Chat to staff at your local library branch to find out when the next Rhyme Time sessions are scheduled.
