Past Event - Neurodivergent Picnic
On an Autumny Thursday afternoon, which was not quite picnic weather, a group of young, neurodivergent, new friends gathered to create, snack and hang out together. The relaxed, welcoming space allowed for meaningful chats, chilled connections and authentic self expression.
Creating safe, inclusive spaces for young people to connect with each other is always a rewarding part of our work at Indigo Shire Youth, and we are so pleased to have created this opportunity.
Hang out, create, and picnic with us in Rutherglen!
The Indigo Shire Youth Team are hosting a chill creative picnic for Neurodivergent people to come together eat, relax and meet peers from their community - think good food, great people, and some sensory fun.
Create your own little project like bracelets, tote bags or mini canvases or just kick back with delicious snacks and meet other awesome Neurodivergent young people. Whether you're here to craft or just catch the afternoon sun, this is your space to be yourself and connect with Neurodivergent peers.
Formally diagnosed, self-identifying and allies are all welcome at this event.

We ask that you chat with Jess or Alanah if you feel you need to stay for the event and encourage you to take a walk, enjoy some seats by the lake or playground or check out some books at the Rutherglen Library which is open until 5pm.
