The Indigo Shire ART program

Inspiring young people to explore creative & cultural activities in North-East Victoria.

The 2025 ART program was designed to connect young people with creative and cultural activities across North-East Victoria by increasing accessibility and awareness. It aimed to inspire young people to explore new opportunities, enhance connections, wellbeing and foster creativity and confidence.

There are currently three components to the ART Program

• ARTventurers for those aged 5-12 and Primary School groups: workshops and performances in schools and community halls
• ARTtours for those ages 12-25: Group trips to explore creativity, culture and connect with others
• ARTpass for those aged 16-25: Free tickets to creative and cultural events across North-East Victoria

ART tours

• Indigo Shire Council provided transport, supervision and tickets to creative and cultural events with the aim of inspiring creativity, collaboration, and confidence
• Young people could register for as many tours as they’d like. 

Program Aims

• Increase the accessibility of creative and cultural events for young people in our community
• Encourage young people to explore new creative and cultural opportunities available to them
• Enhance health, wellbeing, and resilience through artistic engagement
• Foster creativity, collaboration, and confidence in young people
• Inspire young people to engage with or contribute to future youth-led programs that build and celebrate their skills in creative and cultural activities

Past Art Tours

"The Story of Red" - Saturday 6 September, 2025 at The Cube, Wodonga

Step into a whimsical world where classic tales take unexpected turns! "Fractured Fairytales: The Story of Red" reimagines the beloved story of Little Red Riding Hood, blending dance, adventure, and a dash of mischief.

What happened: A group of young people had a wonderful time "spending time with friends and seeing kids our age perform" if was a fun, relaxing and inspiring Saturday afternoon together.
