Bringing Creative Arts to Young Minds Across Indigo Shire

The ARTventurers Program brings high-quality creative experiences to children throughout Indigo Shire, making arts accessible to all young people in our community. Through performances and interactive workshops held in local schools and community halls, this program delivers engaging artistic experiences that spark imagination, build confidence, and develop creative skills.

Program Overview

Young ARTventurers connects regional and remote students with professional artists through performances and hands-on workshops. By activating our community halls and schools as cultural spaces, we're creating vibrant hubs for creative learning while ensuring all children have equitable access to enriching artistic experiences.

Creating Collaboratively - Physical Storytelling
Learn physical theatre techniques to build confidence, take creative risks, and work collaboratively to tell stories through movement.

ARTventurers is presented by Indigo Shire Council as part of the Creative Indigo Strategy, ensuring our community's young people have access to enriching creative experiences that foster imagination, build confidence, and develop lifelong appreciation for the arts. This project is supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria and by Regional Arts Victoria.

The Indigo Shire ART program

Inspiring young people to explore creative & cultural activities in North East Victoria.

The 2025 ART program is an collaborative project between the Creative Communities and Youth teams at Indigo Shire Council. It is designed to connect young people with creative and cultural activities across North East Victoria by increasing accessibility and providing new opportunities. It aims to inspire young people to explore new opportunities, enhance connections, wellbeing and resilience and foster creativity and confidence. 

There are currently three components to the ART Program

  • ARTventurers for those aged 5-12 and Primary School groups: workshops and performances in schools and community halls
  • ARTtours for those ages 12-25: Group trips to explore creativity, culture and connect with others
  • ARTpass for those aged 16-25: Free tickets to creative and cultural events across North-East Victoria
