Friends of Chiltern-Mt Pilot National Park Inc

The group consists of volunteers who undertake hands-on activities in the Park including the following:

  1. Habitat restoration and enhancement – tree and shrub planting
  2. Bird surveys incl. Regent Honeyeater and Swift Parrots
  3. Educational activities – ie. nature walks.
  4. Weed Control – removing various weeds incl. olives, caper spurge, genista species and Cootamundra wattle
  5. Walking track maintenance eg the White Box Walking Track
  6. Establishment, maintenance and monitoring of nest/mammal boxes and nesting logs.
  7. Responding to public enquiries regarding management of natural resources

The group meets once a month (Feb-Nov) in the Park to carry out a hands-on park management activity . We usually meet at 0900 at Chiltern Post Office and then head into the Park from there. We break for morning tea with cake or biscuits provided by Friends. Visitors are most welcome to attend.
