Tiny Art Show 2026: Treasures of Indigo

The Tiny Art Show is back for another year, and we're inviting our community to look a little closer at the treasures around us.

This year's theme: Treasures of Indigo

Create a miniature artwork inspired by a treasured object, place or piece of local history. Visit one of our local museums for inspiration, celebrate a favourite landmark, or depict a special treasure from your own home.

Whether it's the view from your kitchen window, a photograph on your grandmother's mantelpiece, or an object cared for in one of our community museums, every treasure has a story worth painting small.

A community-wide canvas

The Tiny Art Show is a free and inclusive community art exhibition presented by Indigo Shire Libraries, open to artists of all ages and all abilities.

Whether you're a first-time creator or a seasoned artist, whether you reach for pencils, paint, ink or something in between, there's a tiny canvas waiting for you. No experience needed. No entry fee. Just your imagination and a treasure worth sharing.

How to take part

  1. Pick up a tiny canvas from your local Indigo Shire Library branch.
  2. Find your inspiration. Visit a local museum, walk a favourite spot, or look around your own home for the treasure that speaks to you.
  3. Create your tiny masterpiece in any medium you like.
  4. Label the back of your artwork with your name, contact details, the title, date of creation, materials used.
  5. Return your finished artwork and complete an entry form at your local library branch by Saturday 19 September 2026.

  • Submissions close: Saturday 19 September 2026
  • Exhibition: at all Indigo Shire Library branches (dates to be confirmed)

Good to know

  • The Tiny Art Show is free and open to artists of all ages and all abilities.
  • Artworks are not for sale through the exhibition.
  • By entering, you agree that Indigo Shire Council may photograph your artwork for promotional and reporting purposes. Copyright in your artwork remains with you.
  • Indigo Shire Libraries reserves the right to refuse works that are offensive, defamatory or discriminatory.
