Calling young musicians and technicians

The annual Yackandandah Folk Festival is a highlight event for the region and the Emerging Artists stage is an incredible opportunity for young musicians, sound technicians, stage hands and MC's to learn new skills, showcase their talent and connect with others music industry enthusiasts.

The Yackandandah Folk Festival will be held March 20-22 2026. Indigo Shire is pleased to support this amazing opportunity for young people across the region.

Keen to perform?

There are opportunities to perform on both Saturday and Sunday for 20-40minutes per performer. Perform as a solo or group!

As well as a special YACKcoustic competition on Sunday March 22, 11.30am-2pm for a 15 minute set. Cash prizes and a spot in the 2027 Festival are up for grabs!

This event is designed to support both first time newcomers as well as experiences performers. If you have questions, or need some additional support the Emerging Artists Stage crew are happy to help - as are we! Reach out to let us know how we can help. 

Lead in workshops

In the meantime, we will be hosting a range of workshops to help build the skills and confidence of young people and encourage them to step onto the stage in March 2026.
