Council requires hirers to have public liability insurance cover for the event. In the event that a casual hirer does not have their own insurance, cover may be obtained through Council by completing the booking Form and paying an insurance premium at the Council offices at the time of booking.
In the event that a casual user provides their own Public Liability Insurance, such insurance must be for a minimum of $10,000,000 and must be taken in the joint names of the Indigo Shire Council, and the organisations nominated as being responsible for organising the function, indemnifying the Council and the Committee of Management against any claims arising out of or any way related to the use of the facility and for holding the function. Proof of cover in the form of a policy document or Certificate of Currency must be submitted to the Council five (5) working days prior to the event.
NOTE: This cover is only available for casual hirers and cannot be extended to Schools, Sporting Clubs and organisations which must carry their own Public Liability Insurance.
For meetings held outside library opening hours, a representative or the hirer must visit the library prior to the meeting to collect the keys and receive information about opening and closing procedures.
The meeting room can be accessed using a swipe card. The swipe card will open the two entry/exit doors into Hub Street and the meeting room itself. It is essential to carry the swipe card with you at all times when you are in the building.
Upon exiting the building return the swipe card through the library book chute. There will be no access to the Library for after hours bookings.
