This strategy represents our shared commitment to creating a healthier, more resilient community where all residents across all life stages can thrive.
Our Shire is home to strong, diverse communities across eight unique townships, from Wahgunyah to Tangambalanga, each with their own character and strengths. This strategy builds on business community feedback, evidence-based research, and our commitment to fostering meaningful connections to achieve a positive future for all.
Guided by our vision, this strategy addresses the key priorities and opportunities that emerged from our consultation process. Over the next ten years, we will focus on supporting diversity in housing, growing our workforce, empowering our young people, supporting our businesses and strengthening our community networks and connections.
These priorities align with the Victorian State Government’s Economic Growth Statement - reducing red tape and making doing business simpler. Success requires a united council approach, strong external partnerships and effective collaboration. This strategy sits alongside our Council Plan 2025-2029, Municipal Health and Wellbeing Plan 2025-2029, and the upcoming Indigo Shire Settlement Strategy and Destination Management Plan, ensuring our growth initiatives are integrated across all aspects of our work - from infrastructure and community development to tourism, planning and sustainability.
The business community is encouraged to engage with this strategy and join Council in building a vibrant, healthy and sustainable future for Indigo Shire.
