Distillery Road has an urbanising catchment in accordance with our planning scheme, however currently, the outfall drainage hasn't got sufficient capacity.

What are we doing?

We've awarded the tender for a survey and design for a drainage scheme for the area and broadly it will include:

  • Kerb and channel
  • Underground drainage from Distillery Road to Main Street
  • High flow drainage path to Victoria Street and across the railway land to Barkly Street 

Following this, the infrastructure will be constructed in stages.

Timeline

  • The Distillery Road drainage installation was completed at the end of January 2023.
  • Main Street drainage - approximately 12 months (from November 2022)
