To pay your council rates online you will need the reference number that is included on your rates notice.

Please note that the personal information requested on the pay your rates form is being collected by Indigo Shire Council for the payment of rates only. The personal information will be used solely by Council for this purpose.

when do I need to pay my rates?

Council rates are payable in four instalments. Instalment notices will be issued at least 14 days before each instalment is due. You can pay any or all instalments in advance of their due dates.

If electing to pay by instalments, your first payment (as shown on your rates notice) must be paid by 30 September.  A reminder notice will be sent before each instalment due date.

For 2025/26 the instalment dates are:

  • 1st instalment: 30 September 2025
  • 2nd instalment: 30 November 2025
  • 3rd instalment: 28 February 2026
  • 4th instalment: 31 May 2026
