FoRT

Two strange heroes are hunting for whispers of possibility when they discover a pile of seemingly ordinary objects. In a series of vignettes, a couch, table, cushions, sheets and broomsticks transform into rockets, trampolines, cliffs and tents — places to imagine and explore. Images appear and disappear. Created by multi-award-winning circus and physical theatre makers Asking for Trouble, FoRT is full of ridiculous clowning, spectacular acrobatics and poetic visual imagery, celebrating the kind of creative genius that turns lounge rooms into volcanoes and cardboard boxes into racing cars. If you've ever made a fort from a sofa, or helped a small person build their own, this is a delightful theatrical experience for the whole family.

Fort Town 

Join us!

In the three days leading up to the performance, the hall becomes Fort Town, a whole settlement built from cardboard boxes, sheets and pillows by whoever walks through the door. It's free, all ages, and there's nothing to book - just turn up and build. Fort Town stays standing for the performance, so the audience takes their seats inside the town they made. Monday 14 to Wednesday 16 September, Beechworth Memorial Hall.

Please note: This performance includes amplified voices and music and some audience participation. Some audience members sensitive to noise or busy environments may need additional support during the performance. Quiet spaces and exit seating available. Noise-reducing headphones welcome. Please prepare and support audience members as needed
