The relationship between Indigo Shire and Atauro Island, off the coast of Timor Leste, began in 2004 and was formalised in 2008. This committee supports several programs that support education and sanitation on Atauro Island. We support students who wish to study at a tertiary level in Dili. And because Atauro Island, although not very large, is so rugged there is a need for composting toilets for communities situated in the mountains.
