Stanley Recreation Reserve is the central public open space in the village, supporting local sport, recreation, and community gatherings.
With facilities including a sports field, tennis court, playground, picnic areas, and a community pavilion, the reserve plays a vital role in fostering health, wellbeing, and social connection. It also serves as a designated place of last resort and is closely linked to the Stanley Fire Brigade.
The master plan provides a 10-15 year framework to guide future improvements and investment at the reserve. Developed by Indigo Shire Council in partnership with the Committee of Management, on behalf of the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA), it outlines priorities to enhance participation, meet community needs, and ensure the sustainable management of this valued public space.
