Public Toilet Strategy

The Indigo Shire Council Public Toilet Strategy guides the future planning, management and provision of public toilets across the Shire.

It establishes a vision to ‘provide a high quality network of public toilets that are accessible for everyone and will support positive health and wellbeing outcomes’. The vision is supported by the following guiding principles;

  • Public toilets are safe, accessible and inclusive for everyone to use.
  • Public toilets are well-located and easy to find from key destinations.
  • Use of existing infrastructure and assets will be prioritised and maximised.
  • A high standard of cleanliness will be maintained to support the safety, health and wellbeing of everyone in our community.

The strategy was adopted by Council at its meeting in November 2025.
