Indigo Shire Council is continuing to support its local communities to stay active, awarding funding to a range of community and sporting groups through its 2026 Get Active Indigo Grants Program.

At its recent meeting, Council endorsed this year’s successful applicants, who will deliver a variety of initiatives designed to encourage physical activity across the Shire.

Mayor Sophie Price said the program continues to highlight the strong commitment of local groups to creating inclusive and accessible opportunities for people to get involved.

“This year’s applications once again reflect the passion and energy within our communities to support active and healthy lifestyles,” the Mayor said.

“The Get Active Indigo Grants Program plays an important role in helping local groups bring new ideas to life - from introducing people to new activities, to strengthening participation in existing sports and programs.”

Funded projects span a mix of traditional and emerging activities, with a focus on encouraging broader participation and creating welcoming opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.

Council is currently undertaking a review of its grant programs to ensure they continue to meet the needs of the community into the future.
