We are excited to announce the launch of the 2026 Get Active Indigo Grants Program, offering $30,000 in funding to support community‑led projects that encourage people of all ages and abilities to get active, connected and involved.

The annual program provides grants to community groups, sporting clubs and local organisations to deliver activities that promote physical activity, social participation and community wellbeing. Funding is available for a wide range of initiatives, from come‑and‑try sessions and open days to programs designed for beginners, older adults, young people or under‑represented groups.

Last year, 11 local groups received support to bring creative and inclusive ideas to life. Projects ranged from orienteering and croquet activities to triathlon training for young people and multigenerational open days focused on gentle movement and social connection.

Recipients speak highly of the program’s impact. Rutherglen Football Netball Club shared:

“The Indigo Get Active Grant helped our club to purchase much needed training equipment for our Auskick and Net Set Go participants - all 82 of them! This new equipment meant we were able to run much more effective training sessions and develop a broader range of skills with our little sporting stars. We're extremely thankful for the support and it's already making a huge difference for our kids.”

Council encourages all eligible groups to consider applying, particularly those with ideas that support participation, inclusion and community health.

Applications close at midnight on Monday 30 March, and all details, including eligibility and assessment criteria, are available on the Get Active Indigo Grants page.
