As an expression of its governance responsibilities, Indigo Shire Council flies flags at each of its identified flag pole sites. Council is responsible for ensuring that the flags are displayed with due diligence, dignity and attention to position.
This Policy specifies the flags to be flown at each of the flagpole sites and sets the organisational framework to ensure that Council complies with protocols issued by the Department of Premier and Cabinet – Protocols Unit and the Flags Act (1953).
