The Victorian Seniors Festival is a month-long celebration that creates opportunities to participate in fun, free and low-cost events throughout October.
The festival encourages active ageing, community participation and meaningful social interaction.
The festival runs annually for the month of October. This year, the theme of the festival is Connect, Create, Celebrate.
Statewide Festival Program
The online event calendar and print guide is now available, showcasing thousands of festival events across the state.
Collect a festival guide from Coles, local libraries, some community organisations and councils while stocks last.
There are eight days of free public transport for Victorian Seniors Card holders from 5 to 12 October 2025, which can be used on any public transport, including VLine.
Victorian Senior of the Year Awards
The Festival also includes the annual Victorian Senior of the Year Awards. These important awards celebrate the contributions and achievements of older Victorians who share their skills, experiences, time and energy with our community. For more information visit the Awards page.
Indigo Shire Events
Annual events in Indigo Shire are ran through our libraries programing and historic precincts. Community groups and seniors clubs are supported to host events through the Indigo Seniors Grants Program with grants of up to $500 available through the Victorian State Government Active Living Grant.
