Celebrate Volunteers Week with a Gratitude Tree

Gratitude Tree

This National Volunteers Week, help us celebrate the incredible people who give their time, energy, and heart to our communities — our volunteers.

Visit a Gratitude Tree near you at:

  • Beechworth Library

  • Rutherglen Library

  • Yackandandah Post Office

  • Chiltern IGA

  • Tangambalanga Lions Den

Write a message of thanks on a leaf and place it on the tree to let our volunteers know just how much they mean to us. Whether it’s a few words or a heartfelt note, your gratitude will go a long way.

  • Take a leaf – Find a paper leaf from Indigo Shire Libraries or at the tree location nearby.
  • Decorate your leaf with colour
  • Write your message – Share a note of thanks or appreciation for our local volunteers and organisations
  • Add your leaf to the tree – Use the clips or string provided to attach your leaf to the tree.
  • Take a badge – Wear a Volunteer Week badge as a visible thank you to all who give their time and energy.

Your messages will be displayed at local volunteer celebration events on Friday 23 May, and afterward, the Gratitude Trees will be planted within our communities — a lasting tribute and daily reminder of the amazing work our volunteers do. Our towns would not be as vibrant, welcoming, or supported without them.

Let’s grow a forest of gratitude and celebrate the people who make our communities thrive.
