Community Connectors

untitled-7657.JPG

Community Connectors are volunteers across Indigo Shire trained to assist local people to find services and activities that are available to support health and wellbeing. Community Connectors direct people to available services and activities such as:

  • Health services
  • Community groups
  • Transport
  • Housing
  • Residential & respite care
  • Help at home

The Community Connectors service is a collaboration between Indigo Shire Council, Neighbourhood Houses and Visitor Information Centres.

The service is delivered by the volunteers who have a wealth of knowledge for connecting our residents to services and events. The Ageing Well Officer trains the volunteers in the Community Connector service and continues to support them throughout the year by ensuring they are kept up to date with the latest service news and events.

Get involved

Anyone can be a Community Connector, even if you are not an existing volunteer at a Neighbourhood House or Visitor Information Centre. Volunteers who are involved in the Community Connectors program do not take calls or questions outside of their regular volunteer hours. There is no minimum time commitment, other than the essential training to support volunteers to link local people to the services and activities they are seeking.
