Reducing greenhouse emissions

In line with Council's annual renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives, Beechworth Transfer Station's new E-waste shed was powered up in March.

It features a 3.1kW Solar system and 9.6kWh of usable battery storage.  The off grid, stand-alone system supports the delivery of waste services at the site through the generation of solar electricity.

In addition to this, in June 2020, a 15kW solar panel system was installed on the Rutherglen Memorial Hall Library Complex.

The complex comprises the hall, library and a variety of community services. The system will significantly help reduce the operating costs and greenhouse emissions at the site.

We are proud our commitment to creating a healthier and more sustainable future for our Shire. We look forward to sharing more projects with you.
