Thank you for having your say!

Thanks to everyone who shared their input on the management and location of off-leash dog areas in Beechworth.

In total we received 131 submissions, 68 were received online, 15 during the drop in session and 48 from the two walk and talks at Baarmutha Park.

We are grateful to all community members who have had input into what is an important community issue. Council acknowledges the challenges in finding a solution on these issues and we are developing a report to go Council with recommendations in the coming months.

Background

The current off-leash dog area is the Baarmutha Park Precinct, however Council is reviewing this location in response to issues between user groups sharing this space.

The Beechworth Off-Leash Dog Space Review(PDF, 1MB) investigates the suitability of five potential off-leash dog sites in Beechworth including (but not limited to):

  • Baarmutha Park (existing off-leash area)
  • Queen Victoria Park
  • Centennial Park
  • Wallace Park
  • Mayday Hills Oval

We want your feedback on these locations as well as your ideas for any other potential off-leash sites in Beechworth. We also want your views on how to best manage our off-leash spaces moving into the future.

To share your thoughts, make a submission through the form below, or attend one of our drop-in sessions detailed below.
