To meet the requirements of the new Victorian Local Government Act 2020, we've prepared a draft Community Engagement Policy which is now on public exhibition.

In developing the draft, we asked the community for input on how you want to participate in community engagement, what matters most to you and how we can best promote the opportunity to contribute and collect input to inform our decision-making process.

This input was sought via a survey and you can view the findings as well as the draft policy in the related information section on the right hand side of this page.

We're again keen to hear from you on whether you think the draft policy meets community expectations before it is presented to Council for adoption at the February 2021 Council Meeting.

Under the new Act, the Policy must be adopted by Council by 1 March 2021.

What is a Community Engagement Policy?

The Community Engagement Policy outlines our commitment to provide the community with genuine opportunities to contribute to and inform projects, strategies, services and decisions that affect them.

The intent of this policy is to provide clarity about how Council will fulfill its commitment to engaging with the community.
