Draft Budget 2021-2022

At its ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday 18 May 2021, Indigo Shire Council endorsed its draft Budget for the financial year commencing 1 July 2021 and ending 30 June 2022, for public exhibition. 


  • Projects that as at 30 June 2021, the balance of the unredeemed principal outstanding on the Council’s borrowings will be $1.332 million.
  • Proposes borrowings of $1 million to fund its share of the $2 million Epic Mountain Bike Trail project.
  • Proposes that $533,559 of the principal outstanding on borrowings by the Council will be redeemed during the financial year.
  • Proposes that, as at 30 June 2022 the balance of the principal outstanding on Council’s borrowings will be $1.798 million.
  • Proposes that the cost of servicing the Council’s borrowings during the 2021/22 financial year will be $58,262.
  • Proposes that the rate in the dollar for each type of general rate to be levied by the Council be (cents in $ on CIV 2021/22):
  • General.                                    0.3245
  • Residential Vacant.                   0.6490
  • Rural 1.                                     0.2434
  • Rural 2.                                     0.2921  
  • Commercial/Industrial.              0.4381
  • Proposes a $323.65 Municipal charge for 2021/22.
  • Proposes the following service charges apply:
  • Domestic Garbage Collection Charge (Urban).          $116.35
  • Domestic Garbage Collection Charge (Rural).           $195.75
  • Recycling Collection Charge.                                     $89.30
  • Environmental Management Contribution.                 $77.25
  • Organic Collection.                                                     $164.35

Submissions may be made public as part of the Council reports to consider Budget submissions.

If you wish to be heard in support of your submission, please specify this in your submission.

Submissions to the draft budget will be heard at a Special Meeting of Council on Tuesday 15 June 2021. Council will then consider all submissions at the Ordinary Meeting of Council on Tuesday 29 June.
