Join the two-piece indie pop-rock band This Way North for a series of engaging and innovative hands-on music workshops.

This Way North's Leisha and Cat both grew up in rural areas in Victoria. They are passionate about exposing young people to the wonderful and creative world of music.

Leisha is a fully qualified teacher with experience in both primary and secondary teaching having worked in some of the leading public schools in Melbourne. Cat runs the booking agency, The Booking Stable, who look after several artists and venues. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience from over 10 years in the music industry as an artist and agent.

You'll learn about:

  • Song Writing 101 - Delve into the immersive world of song writing
  • Music Industry, Independent Musicians 101 - Discover the ins and outs of being an independent musician. In addition to the tools and strategies needed to approach venues, recording studios, media and publicity.
  • Live Performance - The art of live performance. From song choice, set lists, stage banter, dance moves to all the other aspects that make up powerful live performances.

These workshops will be a hands-on, fun and dynamic and are suitable for young people aged 12 - 24yrs old.

You'll have the opportunity to perform and connect with other young musicians from across North-East Victoria.
