Indigo Shire Council has awarded a total of $50,000 to various community organisations across the Shire through its Community Grants Program.

The program provides an opportunity for community groups and organisations to seek funds for projects and initiatives that benefit the community at large.

Mayor, Bernard Gaffney says the program supports the wonderful work of a variety of organisations from across the Shire and encourages volunteer participation.

“We’re thrilled to award this funding to the very-deserving community groups that call Indigo Shire home.” Cr Gaffney said.

“The diversity of this year’s applicants really show how our Shire is evolving and growing and we’re so pleased to be able to support them through this program.”

From a total 19 applicants, 18 were successful, with a significant number receiving the full amount requested in their applications. The one application not supported, was from a corporate entity residing outside Indigo Shire.
