In April this year, we began developing the Draft Rutherglen Place Plan, with your input.

Through this initial round of engagement, which included a survey and a number of drop-in sessions, we've captured your thoughts and ideas and compiled a list of actions, goals and projects that will help guide Rutherglen's growth and evolution for the next 30 years.

Have your say

We would now like to know which of these projects are most important to you, so we can look at each one in more detail and establish how they might be developed.

Simply click the link below to view the projects, including details on their estimated cost and timeframes, and then rank them in order of what you think should be prioritised.

Hard copy surveys are also available at local businesses and at the Rutherglen Council Customer Service Centre / Library. These completed hard copy surveys can also be returned to these locations.

Rank the projects in order of priority

The Rutherglen place plan will focus on four main themes to drive:

  1. Growth and development
  2. Sustainable development within the township
  3. Considerations for the Rutherglen town centre,
  4. Tourism opportunities and social capital.

The main aims of the place plan are to:

  • Address opportunities and challenges within Rutherglen associated with the place plan themes
  • Capture the desires of the entire Rutherglen community for the future of the town
  • Establishing short, medium and long term goals for Rutherglen
  • Establishing priority projects for Rutherglen
  • Provide recommendations around strategies, actions, timeframes, costs and funding sources

Our initial phase of community engagement was to capture the entire essence of the town and now that is complete, we're keen to understand more about what projects you think should be prioritised to address the aims of the place plan.
