At the April 2022 Council Meeting, Council adopted its first Indigo Shire Council Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
The plan includes the following action, which we're now progressing: Consult with community regarding changes to Australia Day functions including the format and the Australia Day Award process.
To do this, we're looking for 5-10 community members to participate in a working group to:
- Develop and implement a community engagement plan in partnership with Council officers to consult with community on changes to Australia Day functions including the format and the Australia Day Awards process.
- Advise Council on engagement findings and recommendation for future Australia Day events and awards in preparation for 2024.
- Provide a final report to Council in August 2023 to advise of future directions.
