We’ve received State Government funding to prepare a business case and concept plan for the much talked about Rutherglen Silos Precinct and are seeking your input into how this area can be transformed into a dynamic and much valued public space for the community and visitors.
This project strategically aligns with the Indigo Shire Destination Game Changer 2023 tourism strategy, which highlights the need for landscape and amenity improvements to Rutherglen to optimise visitor appeal, grow tourism and identify priority investment projects.
The Rutherglen Silo Precinct will create an aesthetically beautiful outdoor centrepiece for the enjoyment of visitors and locals alike, adjacent to and flowing from Main Street, strengthening the link to the Rutherglen Visitor Information Centre and Rutherglen Wine Experience building.
It will become an attractive space right in the heart of town, a space where the community can meet and spend time, a space for art installations, light projections, silo art, festivals and events. It will be a beautiful and significant trailhead of the existing Murray to Mountains Rail Trail and soon to be developed Wine, Walk, Cycle Trail.
In order to proceed with the implementation of the Silo Precinct Project, a comprehensive business case and detailed concept plan must first be produced, which will help us in seeking the relevant funding required.
