1. How do I get to Indigo Shire?

Most of the towns located in the Indigo Shire region can be reached via coach. To find out more contact any one of the Shire's Visitor Information Centres.

2. What is the population for each town?

The Indigo Shire has a population of approximately 15,000 people. Population figures for each major town are listed below (according to the 2001 census).

10.  Where can I obtain licences and permits?

For prospecting, a miner's licence can be obtained at the Beechworth Visitor Information Centre located on Ford Street. Fishing licences are available from a number of outlets, to find locations click here.
