Indigo Planning Scheme Amendment C24 – Planning Scheme Review
Council has completed the review of the Indigo Planning Scheme with the adoption of the Planning Scheme Review document in October 2007.
This adopted document can be downloaded using the link below and includes detailed background information; a review and identification of relevant key land use planning issues, objectives and strategies for the Shire; preferred future development patterns and an Implementation Plan. The Implementation Plan provides a list of future actions to be undertaken to implement the policy direction contained in the review document. These actions include studies, investigation and proposed changes to the Indigo Planning Scheme.
Council is now attempting to make the proposed changes to the Indigo Planning Scheme through a Planning Scheme Amendment process. Planning Scheme Amendment C24 has been prepared and is currently being publicly exhibited. This amendment includes a proposed new Municipal Strategic Statement, which is the key document guiding land-use planning and development in the Shire. The amendment also includes proposals to correct a number of anomalies and errors in the planning scheme.
The full amendment can be viewed on www.dpcd.vic.gov.au/planning/publicinspection or at any of Council’s offices and service centres.
Any person who may be affected by the proposed amendment may make a submission and the closing date for submissions is Friday 15 August 2008. Submissions must be sent to the Environment & Development Services Manager, PO Box 75, Yackandandah 3749.
Any questions regarding this process can be directed to Council’s Senior Strategic Planner Stephen Swart at: PO Box 75, Yackandandah, 3749 or Email: sswart@indigoshire.vic.gov.au or Fax: (02) 6027 1495.
