Keeping more than four animals
A resident must not keep more than four animals in a residential area without obtaining a permit. Naturally this does not include your goldfish or your pet budgie but it does refer to those in residential areas that keep more than two dogs and two cats or any farm animals.
If you have more than four animals in total, and live in a residential area you will need to obtain a permit from the Council. The Ranger may need to inspect your property.
For a permit application form please download the "Application to Keep More than Four Animals" form on this page. Alternatively, contact the Ranger on 02 6028 1100 or mobile 0407 201 002.
