Burning off and incinerators

Document Actions
Information regarding burning off and the use of incinerators.

No one may burn off in a residential area without a permit, other than in an incinerator.  Incinerators can only be used on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday between 10am and 3pm.

Incinerators may not be used on a fireban day.

No burning off whatsoever is permitted on any land during the CFA declared Fire Danger Period or a day of Total Fire Ban.

Permits for burning off in a residential area may be obtained from any of Council's Customer Service Centres. Permits are free of charge, but they do require the applicant to possess proof of insurance, with a minimum cover of 10 million dollars. Applicants must also notify their neighbours of their intention to burn off.

For further information regarding burning off, please contact Council on (03) 5728 8000 or call into any Customer Service Centre.
