Indigo Shire Council and the young people of Beechworth have been working for 18 months on the design. Funding has now been secured for the project which includes:

•    Department of Planning and Community Development = $60,000
•    Community contribution = $4,500
•    Indigo Shire Council contribution = $45,000

The total amount of funding received is $109,500, as well as an additional $14,000 in volunteer labour, creating an amount of $123,750.

Copies of the design are available at the Beechworth Office of Council in Ford Street or by contacting the Beechworth Office on phone 1300 365 003. Comments and feedback on the Beechworth Skate Park design can be forwarded to Indigo Shire Council, PO Box 28, Beechworth up until Friday 24 July 2009.

All submissions received by 24 July will be considered. Tenders will then be called for and a contractor will be engaged. Construction will start around November and the project is set to be completed by Christmas.
