Join the Beechworth Trees Consultative Committee

Indigo Shire Council is seeking expressions of interest from local residents to be part of the Beechworth Trees Consultative Committee to draw upon community expertise in the care and maintenance of trees in Beechworth.

Desired skills for members:

  • Experience on boards/consultative groups
  • Strategic thinking skills/policy development experience
  • Education/communication and collaboration skills
  • Preparedness/ability to work in partnership on difficult issues
  • Representation from other relevant groups
  • Environmental/tourism/heritage interests

The role of the consultative committee includes reviewing the street tree themes as part of the lndigo Shire Council Tree Management Plan, and providing a conduit for advice and information between lndigo Shire Council, Council staff, and the broader community.

Membership of this group will involve site visits, research relating to tree care and maintenance, and meetings with Council staff on an ongoing basis.
