EOI Audit Committee Independent Members

Indigo Shire Council is seeking three independent members to fill upcoming vacancies on the Audit Committee. Successful applicants will have relevant industry experience, tertiary qualifications in a related field and be able to provide specialist knowledge in one or more of the following: financial compliance, risk management, legal compliance, governance, business management and information technology.

Council operates a diverse business portfolio, aiming to meet the local community’s needs while complying with state and federal legislative requirements.

Council’s Audit Committee operates under Section 139 of the Local Government Act 1989. The Committees role is to oversee and monitor the effectiveness of Council in carrying out its responsibilities for accountable financial management, good corporate governance, maintaining as effective system of internal control and risk management, and fostering an ethical environment. The Committee meets a minimum of four times a year at Council’s Beechworth Office.

Council is offering 2 x 3 year appointments and 1 x 2 year appointment.
