Council Office Fact Sheet 1 June 2012
There might never be a better time to build new Indigo Shire offices … and here is why
FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE The State Government has approved $2.368 million in funding for the office-library project. This is an extremely rare opportunity. (Less cost for ratepayers.)
OTHER PROJECTS WILL NOT SUFFER The State Government has provided an additional $4 million over four years for roads and bridges. Council will continue other important infrastructure activities.
COUNCIL CAN AFFORD TO BORROW The State Auditor-General acknowledges that Council's borrowings are low-risk, and that Council is one of the lowest-rating Small Shires in Victoria.
The need for more efficient and effective administration facilities will not go away. Council must take advantage of a remarkable opportunity to solve this issue.
