Five-year focus on Tourism, Economy

Indigo Shire's draft Tourism Strategy has been completed and is now on display for public comment.

The Mayor, Cr Jenny O'Connor, said the Indigo Destination Game Changer 2023 tourism strategy was developed in consultation with Indigo's Economic Development and Tourism Advisory Committee alongside State and regional stakeholders and community members.

"The five-year strategy redefines the way tourism will be delivered in Indigo Shire," Cr O'Connor said.

"It outlines ambitious growth targets for Indigo's visitor economy and, most importantly, defines how results will be measured."

"Going hand in hand with the tourism strategy is the Draft Economic Development Strategy, also adopted by Council for public comment," Cr O'Connor said.

"This strategy has been developed in consultation with Indigo's Economic Development and Tourism Advisory Committee, local stakeholders and the community.

"The five-year economic strategy provides direction to capitalize on growth opportunities and strengthen the local economy while retaining Indigo Shire's distinctive personality."
