The L2P Program helps young learner drivers facing significant barriers to getting the 120 hours of mandatory on-road driving experience.

It is a VicRoads initiative delivered by the Indigo Shire Council. Young people are matched with a volunteer mentor who takes them driving in a provided vehicle each week.

There are many barriers to young people being able to complete their 120 hours: no access to a vehicle; lack of support from licensed adults; and economic disadvantage.

Become a mentor

  • Do you relate well to young people?
  • Do you have a full Victorian Driver's Licence?
  • Can you commit to volunteering 1-2 hours per week?

All volunteer driving mentors are provided with a 4-star ANCAP rated program car, insurances, fuel and mentor training with VicRoads.
