Can you help young people learn to drive?
Indigo Shire is looking for mentors for learner drivers. Funded by VicRoads, the L2P Program helps young people attain their 120 practice hours needed for their licence test.
Mentors spend one or two hours a week to drive with a young person. The program supplies the car, fuel and training.
Mentor Doug Crawley from Rutherglen said the program was "a great way to give something back to the community and impart knowledge for young people. Giving young folks a hand for tomorrow.”
Applicants will have police and working with children checks, and attend a short training course.
We have young people on our waiting lists in all communities and would appreciate your involvement.
Please contact Indigo Shire Council's Youth Officer Sal Kimber on 0427 724 726 for further information.
