Roadside Weed Initiative Program

Indigo Shire Council's Roadside Weed Initiative program helps landholders prevent the spread of weeds on roadsides adjacent to their property.

The program is an opportunity for residents to take ownership of their roadside and look after it to the same standard as their property. Preference will be given to areas and weeds that have not already been treated, as well as to joint applications with adjacent neighbours and to applications that follow up on spraying undertaken last year.

Application forms can be obtained from Indigo Shire offices or from Indigo’s website.  Any queries regarding this program can be directed to Council’s Natural Resource Management Officer on 03 5728 8000.

Applications can be submitted any time of the year.

Please note that allocation of chemicals will be based on the type of training residents possess.  Residents with current chemical users certificates will be allocated a wider selection of chemicals.

Strict chemical use requirement apply as per the Department of Environment and Primary Industries' guidelines.
