Indigo Sustainability Awards
The Indigo Sustainability Awards have been established to acknowledge innovative projects and share ideas among community members and is an opportunity for individuals, primary producers, groups, schools and businesses to nominate sustainable activities, projects, events, services or products for recognition.
The awards were created to recognise achievements in environmental sustainability and to inspire others to undertake similar work, the idea for an awards program came from Council’s Environment Advisory Committee which is a partnership between Council and the community.
The 2012 Sustainability Awards winners were announced on Friday 16 November 2012 at the Rutherglen DPI Research Station from 13 submissions showcasing a wide range of environmental initiatives throughout Indigo Shire. Indigo Mayor Cr Barb Murdoch said the Council was delighted with the calibre of submissions and the variety of projects being undertaken across the shire to minimise the impact on the environment.
