Community Strengthening Project review
The Community Strengthening Project is currently being reviewed by an external evaluator. To assist with this review, we would appreciate it if you could undertake a short survey to help gather information on the impact of the Community Strengthening Project on you and your community. The survey will only take a few short minutes, and will be used to help the Indigo Shire and other council's to design community planning and engagement activities in the future.

The Community Strengthening Project
A powerful catalyst for change is when a community comes together and discovers what it cares about the most.
Indigo Shire Council's Community Strengthening Project is based on this principle - that people willingly support what they create. This project hands power to the people to create and implement their own ideas for developing a more cohesive and connected community. This takes the form of many conversations over several months culminating in a written Community Plan based on their ideas, which they implement as they choose in partnership with Council and other supporting agencies.
When people focus on their own aspirations for their community, rather than someone else's, their strengths and talents become more obvious and available. The role of the Community Strengthening Project is to facilitate the process.
The project is funded by the Department of Planning and Community Development, Victorian Bushfire Reconstruction and Recovery Authority, Department of Human Services, Office of the Emergency Services Commissioner and Indigo Shire Council.
Indigo Shire Council is encouraging passionate, community minded residents to become involved in its new exciting program, the Community Strengthening Project.
The project has been developed with significant State Government funding for community strengthening and bushfire recovery purposes. A large component of the project will involve the Council working with individual communities to prepare Community Plans.
The Team
The Council has established a Community Strengthening Project team who are rolling out the project across the Shire. For more information or to become involved please contact the team on 02 6028 1145 or 1300 365 003, or email one of the team members.
