Community grants
Applications are invited from the community for Indigo Shire’s 2012-2013 Community Grants Program under the following categories:
- Community Grants – General
- Community Grants – Arts & Cultural Initiatives
- Community Grants – Youth Initiatives Grants
Applicants should contact Council to discuss the suitability of their project before lodging an application.
Scope of the 2012-2013 Program
There is a total of $45,000 available for ‘General’ and ‘Arts and Culture’ under this years program with an additional $2,500 for Youth Initiatives. It is anticipated that successful grants will be in the order of about $200 up to a maximum of about $4,000.
Guidelines and Criteria for Funding
Please read through the Community Grants Policy (page 3 of this Grants Information Pack) and the Criteria for Assessment of Grants (page 4 of this Pack) for more information on eligibility criteria, application requirements, information on the GST and other conditions.
Presentation of Grants to Successful Applicants
Council will be hosting a Presentation Night to present the grants to all successful applicants under this years Program. It is anticipated that this Presentation Night will take place within a few weeks after the successful applications have been formally adopted by Council at its July 2012 Council meeting. Notification of the date of the Night will be forwarded to all successful applicants.

Community Grants are made to community groups each year to assist with projects that will benefit their local communities.
Projects that have been successful in the past have included:
- purchase of chairs for a public hall
- rejuvenation of croquet court
- installation of rain water tank
- fencing repairs at tennis court
- playground improvements at child care centre.
