Buy Local Man gives away $2,200 worth of vouchers

Yackandandah resident Jo Cox has won $1500 worth of gift vouchers in Indigo Shire’s Buy Local promotion. Ms Cox was entered into the draw after being spotted by Buy Local Man in Yackandandah shopping with her Buy Local bag. 

“It’s fantastic to reward our winners for shopping within Indigo Shire, just in time for Christmas too,” said Buy Local Man.

Second prize winner Rosalie Shearer of Chiltern won $500 in vouchers and third prize winner Sue Breen of Wodonga received $200 in vouchers.

The vouchers were donated from businesses throughout the Shire to encourage shopping in Indigo and were presented last week by Deputy Mayor Cr Bernard Gaffney at the Beechworth Squash and Fitness Centre.

The Buy Local promotion was an initiative developed by Indigo Shire’s Economic Development Unit to encourage local shoppers to support local businesses. A need for such a promotion arose during the business networking meetings held throughout the Shire earlier this year. The promotion ran throughout October.
