Registering your dog or cat

All dogs and cats over three months of age must be registered with Council. Once your dog or cat is registered, they receive a Council identification number.

Membership must be renewed annually in April by every pet owner, regardless of what date during the year your pet is registered. From October, the pet registration fee reduces because you do not get a full year of registration.

Losing a pet can be distressing for the owners and the animal. Correct tags and current registration will help Council contact you should we locate your lost pet.

Penalties for failing to renew or register your animal can be in excess of $535.
