Animal business registration

The Domestic Animals Act requires all animal businesses to be registered annually.

A domestic animal business is defined as:

• an animal shelter
• a pet shop
• an enterprise that is run for profit that breeds dogs or cats or rears, trains or boards dogs or cats.

The annual fee for this type of registration is set at $204.60.

Penalties for non-compliance are $1190.
